We would like to put our guests' minds at ease when visiting Broomfield House, by mentioning that we are taking the following precautions to keep both you and ourselves safe.  Above all, we wish to ensure our guests that social distancing and frequent, thorough hand washing by all, is of the highest importance to us.

  1. As you will note in the above logos, we have successfully completed the Covid-19 Industry Standard Assessment, called 'We're Good to Go', in partnership with National Tourism Organisations of Great Britain. We have also been awarded the AA Covid-19 Confident award.  These are in recognition that we, as a business, are confirmed to be following government and industry guidelines, and they have ensured that processes are in place to maintain the cleanliness and to aid social/physical distancing.   

  2. Once you have made a reservation for a stay with us, should you or any of your party be feeling unwell close to your date of arrival (with the symptoms of Covid-19 - high temperature, new persistant dry cough, loss of taste/smell), we ask you to please be considerate and inform us of this, and as a result, your reservation will be cancelled, and we will enforce no cancellation fees.  We can happily rearrange your reservation for a future date.   

  3. Please note that, on your arrival, we will ask to take a forehead temperature with a medical grade, infrared thermometer.  Should we record a temperature of 38 degrees C, or above, we will ask you to relax for a while in your car or on our bench outside.  If your temperature is still high after a second reading which will be taken 15 minutes later, we will ask you and your party to return immediately home and self-isolate as per the current Government guidelines.  Your reservation will be cancelled with no charge.  Your  temperature will also be taken on departure.

  4. If you need assistance with your luggage, we will help you whilst staying at a safe distance, and place items outside your door.  We will wear gloves when handling your luggage.

  5. We have installed free-standing safety glass screens in our dining room, where tables have been distanced and separated.  For safety reasons, if you have young children, we require them to stay seated in the dining room during breakfast.  There will be no buffet table for breakfast items, and everything will be served to your table.  We have implemented a pre-order breakfast form which is required to be completed by each guest the evening before.  On the form, we will be requesting that guests specify a time that they wish to eat, and we ask our guests to be as prompt as possible to this specified time - so preventing too many guests from other parties arriving at the same time.   

  6. Hand sanitiser will be available at front and back doors for your use, as well as at the top of the stairs, and we encourage the use of gloves and masks whilst in public areas.  We will be wearing face masks/shields and gloves at all times whilst dealing with our guests.  

  7. We have always prided ourselves on our cleanliness - as it has been noted by so many of our guests - and now we will be sterilizing even more frequently in all areas.  We therefore anticipate that it will take longer for us to clean all public areas, including bedrooms, and therefore ask guests to make sure they do not arrive before our check-in time of 4pm, unless arranged beforehand.       

  8. In order to respect your safety and ours, housekeeping services will not be done during your stay. We would usually clean each room and make the beds, but because of Covid-19, this will only be done on your departure.   For guests staying longer than 1 night, we ask you to send us requests of items requiring replacing (for example fresh towels, toilet rolls, hospitality tray items) by text message on 07791840004.  We will place them outside the door for your collection.  Please put used towels that need washing in the bag provided outside your door for our collection.

  9. A hospitality tray will be in the bedrooms, with fresh milk provided for you to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee on your arrival as well as during your stay.  A basic selection of tea, coffee and sugar will be on the tray, minimizing cross-contamination.  Any special requirement for herbal/fruit teas can be supplied upon request.  All glassware, crockery and cutlery used during your stay is washed at high temperature in the dishwasher.

  10. We will take payment for all stays, on the day of your arrival, using the card details provided at time of reservation.  This will cut down on touch points having to be used.  Receipts of your transaction will be placed in your bedroom before arrival.  We do not have access to contactless payments.

  11. Before you check-out, we ask our guests to please open their window for ventilation.

  12. TERMS AND CONDITIONS:     If a guest develops symptoms of COVID-19 and declares the need to self-isolate, they must check out immediately and return home to self-isolate, or go to a hospital if needed. We cannot allow guests with COVID-19 symptoms to stay in our house.
